"you", "your", "user", "visitor" shall mean any natural or legal person who is visiting our website and/or agreed to purchase from us.

Eligibility and parental consent

WhyCosmos provides live online courses for learners aged 8 and above. If a learner is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account, enrol the learner, and accept these Terms on the learner’s behalf. By doing so, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you consent to your child’s participation and to our processing of their data as described in our Privacy Policy. Learners aged 18 or over may register and accept these Terms for themselves.

The service we provide

WhyCosmos delivers live, instructor-led online classes in small groups, together with related learning materials and activities and, where applicable, session recordings and a certificate of completion. Class schedules, batch timings, and course content may change, and we may use suitably qualified substitute instructors where necessary. We aim to deliver every scheduled session; where we are unable to, the "Changes and cancellations by us" section below applies.

Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate enrolment information, for keeping your login details secure, and for all activity under your account. Please tell us promptly of any unauthorised use. An account is for the enrolled learner only and may not be shared.

Code of conduct and a safe learning environment

Our classes are intended to be a safe, respectful space for children. Learners are expected to behave respectfully towards their instructors and classmates. Our instructors are briefed to maintain a safe and respectful environment, and access to each virtual classroom is restricted to enrolled participants. We may remove a participant from a session, or suspend or end an enrolment, where behaviour is disruptive or unsafe or breaches these Terms (see "Suspension and termination").

Acceptable use and our content

The courses, materials, and recordings we provide are licensed to the enrolled learner and their family for personal, non-commercial learning only. You may not record, copy, publish, resell, or redistribute any class, recording, or material, or share access with anyone who is not enrolled. The platform may be used only for its intended educational purpose and not in any unlawful, harmful, or disruptive way.

Changes and cancellations by us

Occasionally we may need to reschedule or cancel a session, batch, or course — for example, due to instructor availability or insufficient enrolment. Where we cancel a session that we are unable to reschedule, or cancel a course before it has been delivered, we will provide a fair, pro-rata refund for the affected part of your purchase, or a suitable alternative, at your choice.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access to the service if these Terms are breached, if payment is not completed, or where necessary to protect the safety of learners or instructors. Where we end an enrolment for a serious breach, the Cancellation and Refund terms below apply.

Cancellation and Refund

YC42 EXPLORERS PRIVATE LIMITED (operating as WhyCosmos) wants every learner to begin with confidence. We encourage you to attend a free demo class first, to experience a typical WhyCosmos live lesson before you enrol.

You can request a full, no-questions-asked refund within 7 days of your purchase and before your first live session — we will refund 100% of what you paid.
Once your first live session has taken place, the purchase is non-refundable. This is exactly why we encourage trying a free demo class first.
To request a refund, email contact@whycosmos.com. Once approved, your refund is returned to your original payment method within 5-7 business days.

Disclaimers and liability

We provide the courses with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid for the course or subscription in question. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

This privacy policy sets out how YC42 EXPLORERS PRIVATE LIMITED uses and protects any information that you give YC42 EXPLORERS PRIVATE LIMITED when you visit their website and/or agree to purchase from them.

YC42 EXPLORERS PRIVATE LIMITED is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, and then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Children’s data and parental consent

Many WhyCosmos learners are children (under 18). Where a learner is under 18, their account is created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, who enrols the child and consents to our processing of the child’s data on their behalf. Learners aged 18 or over may enrol and provide consent for themselves.

For a learner under 18, we collect only what we need to place them in the right class and deliver lessons — typically their name and age — and use it solely to provide and improve the learning experience.

In line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023, where a learner is under 18 we do not use their personal data for targeted advertising, behavioural tracking, or profiling, and we never process it in a way intended to harm a child’s well-being.

If you are the parent or guardian of a learner under 18, you can review, correct, or request deletion of the child’s data — and withdraw consent — at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide the classes.

We may collect the following information:

Name
Contact information including email address
Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests, if required
Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers

What we do with the information we gather:

Internal record keeping.
We may use the information to improve our products and services.
With your consent, to send you occasional updates about new courses — you can unsubscribe at any time. We never use your child’s data for marketing.

How we use cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device that help a website work and help us understand how it is used. Our website uses:

cookies that are necessary for the site to function;
Google Analytics, to understand which pages are visited and how the site performs, so we can improve it; and
the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, to measure and improve our advertising.

These analytics and advertising tools are provided by Google and Meta, who process the resulting data under their own privacy policies. We do not use cookies or these tools to profile or target children with advertising.

You can accept or decline cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics and Meta’s advertising tools using the controls they provide. Declining some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

We do not sell, distribute, or lease your personal information to third parties, and we do not share your child’s data for third-party marketing. Your data is stored securely on cloud infrastructure located in India, and is disclosed only where the law requires it.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to RH-2, L-44, Sector 6, Vashi Thane MAHARASHTRA 400703 or contact us at contact@whycosmos.com as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it to provide our courses and run our business, or for as long as the law requires. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your or your child’s data at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it by law.
