Many WhyCosmos learners are children (under 18). Where a learner is under 18, their account is created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, who enrols the child and consents to our processing of the child’s data on their behalf. Learners aged 18 or over may enrol and provide consent for themselves.
For a learner under 18, we collect only what we need to place them in the right class and deliver lessons — typically their name and age — and use it solely to provide and improve the learning experience.
In line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023, where a learner is under 18 we do not use their personal data for targeted advertising, behavioural tracking, or profiling, and we never process it in a way intended to harm a child’s well-being.
If you are the parent or guardian of a learner under 18, you can review, correct, or request deletion of the child’s data — and withdraw consent — at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide the classes.

Are classes recorded? If so, how are the recordings used?
Yes. Sessions are recorded so enrolled learners can revisit lessons and catch up if they miss a class. Recordings are stored securely and are accessible only to enrolled families and the class instructor. We keep a recording only while it’s needed for the course and for learners to review, and then delete it. For a learner under 18, recording is covered by the parental consent given at enrolment.
Can I request the deletion of my child's data?
Yes, you can request data deletion at any time by contacting our support team.
Do you use my child's image or work for marketing?
We will only use your child’s image or work with explicit parental consent.
How do you ensure online safety during classes?
Our classes are conducted in a secure virtual environment. Instructors are trained to maintain a safe and respectful learning space, and access is restricted to enrolled participants.
